Sketch #10 - Nipa Hut

Been admiring Lat's work---he's a famous Malaysian cartoonist, most know for making Kampung Boy, a semi-autobiographical cartoon-memoir. The way he uses ink is unbelievable... I love the way he chooses to use solid blacks as a focal points in his mostly black and white illustrations. This sketch is mostly a riff off his work, by imitating him I hope to learn a little about the way he uses inks so well.

Sketch #9 - Messenger

It's been a long time since I've posted any of my sketches, so I thought I'd try and fix that with some excerpts from aimless doodles. I had some excess ink in a bottlecap and decided to try drawing straight from the brush and it turned out to be some kinda revolutionary from the turn of the century....

Butil #41 - Walk The Line

Been experimenting with different styles, will try variations in the cartoons from time to time. It is an experimental blog, after all. Do chime in and let me know what you think.
